DVDs

• Single DVD, video only: $145.
• Single DVD, with multiple video clips and/or slide shows: $195 (possibly more depending on complexity).
• Copy a supplied DVD: $95. Note that we cannot reproduce copy-protected or copyright material.
• Repeat copies: $60.
• PAL to NTSC conversion (for writing onto a DVD): $20/hour of video.

In addition to video-only DVDs, we can also create DVDs with a mix of video clips and still pictures (ie, slide shows) with interactive menus to navigate around them all. Slide shows can have accompanying music. Chapter markers (scene selection) can be added for long videos so you can jump to your favourite scene quickly.

The above costs include all labour charges and a photo-quality label on the DVD. However, the prices are based on video material, photographs and backing music for slideshows being ready to use. Video editing (if required) or particularly complex DVDs may have an extra charge. The original photographs in a slideshow can be included in a DVD-ROM section of the DVD.

Video tapes for source material can be VHS, S-VHS, or Mini-DV. Up to about 150 minutes (2¹/₂ hours) of video will fit on one DVD. Note that if slide shows and motion menus are included, less than 150 minutes of video will fit on the DVD.

The DVDs we create can be played on almost all DVD players and computer DVD drives, including the Sony Playstation 2, and are zone independant. This means that you can send them to relatives in other parts of the world - at $3 airmail to most countries, postage for a DVD is much cheaper than for a video tape. Be sure to tell us beforehand if you require your DVD in NTSC format (eg, for the USA or Japan).

A comment from a satisfied customer:

And another more-than-satisfied customer who got a fully edited 26 minute video and two slideshows on her DVD:

"Hey there ian. Wanted to say thanx again 4 the dvd.. Get gr8 coments bak."

And another text message from a guy(!) after viewing his new wedding DVD; short but to the point:

"Dvd is fantastic"

CDs

• Single CD: $6 - holds up to 700MB, includes slimline jewel case.
• Repeat copies: $4.
• Label: $2.00 - full colour, photo quality.
• Standard jewel case: $1. (Mailing case also available.)
• CD inserts: $5 - full colour folded insert for front, or for standard jewel cases for the back.

• 8cm CD-R: $12 - holds up to 185MB.
• Repeat copies of 8cm CD-R: $8.
• Other disks may also be available; CD-RW, business card CD (50MB), black CD, etc.

Unlike for DVDs, the above CD prices are just for burning the CDs and do not include content preparation, graphics for label, etc. Standard labour charge is $60 per hour.

For label and insert printing, graphics can be supplied in a number of formats, including JPEG (150+ ppi), PDF, Freehand file.

CDs can be in Mac or PC format, or even both on the same disk.
